Migrate from Citrix – Citrix XenApp 6.0 and 6.5 Are Now End Of Life (EOL)
As of June 30th, 2018, Citrix will not provide any further, updates or technical support for Citrix XenApp 6.5 or XenApp Fundamentals 6.0. You would need to upgrade to the latest version to for support services. Such as Citrix XenApp 7.x, however; there are no in-place upgrades options, a complete migration is required.
To migrate from Citrix 6.x to Citrix 7.x, a new Citrix site needs to be created. The next steps would be to install the core components for the new site. Following this there are various exporting and importing policies and farm data to/from XML files to the new site. There are also various other post-migration tasks. Citrix does provide a migration tool to help with this process. This process is not straightforward and there are some critical limitations including but not limited to:
- Not able to import various application parameters/properties
