Altaro 7.6 What’s New?
Altaro 7.6 What’s New? – As an leading Altaro Specailst at Systech IT Solutions, I am constantly being updating on Altaro product and features. We saw that last year Altaro completely changed their entire Backend platform from using Reverse Delta to Inline Deduplication and they haven’t stopped there. With the release of Altaro 7.6, I would like to share some finding from internal testing.
For Altaro 7.6, Altaro Software have implemented additional new and exciting features like Continuous Data Protection (CDP), Grandfather Father Son (GFS) and Changed Block Tracking (CBT) Improvements for Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 (waiting on confirmation for Windows Server 2016).
Below is a brief overview of the new features in the 7.6 Altaro update.
If you want to know more about Altaro 7.6, or would like to try the beta go to the Altaro website.
Continuous Data Protection (CDP) – works with local backups and makes a shift from the bog standard daily backups moving to backing up every 5-10 minutes. Which reduces the amount of data lost when disaster strikes.
Grandfather Father Son (GFS) – allows you to easily set up a retention policy that will set up 3 separate backup cycles, one every week, month and year.
Changed Block Tracking (CBT) – has been improved for Windows Server 2012, with changes, allowing CBT to continue working when the host reboots, during Altaro Upgrades and while moving VMs between cluster nodes. While also increasing the efficacy and speed.
Systech will be releasing Blogs relating to Altaro over the next few weeks so be on the lookout.
